Yeah, old school games are out and gaming consoles are in. People on their right minds will say that gaming will only be a hobby and making a career out of it will only show you the way to bankruptcy. Guess again, gaming for a career is a reality for this guy named Johnathan Wendel or more known in the gaming community as Fatal1ty.
Here is an article about Wendel and his career as a gamer.
Imagine yourself going around the world just playing video games, getting a sponsorship, and don’t forget the fat paycheck that comes with it and top it off with endorsements and your own clothing line. While Microsoft claims that Vista is the most secure Operating System, bootleg copy of it has spread in Manila already. A group that call themselves “Pantheon” was able to hack an exploit in the system that bypasses the Product Activation Online.
bootleg vista out in the market now
The ultimate version is priced at 26,000 ($500+) pesos compared to the street price of the bootleg copy of 300 pesos ($6). No wonder why people would go for the pirated copy. Me being an ordinary citizen, can’t afford a 500 dollar software that is a hardware-hogging-resources monster. Not only that, there are at least 8 versions of the software to chose from and not to mention that the other softwares that need to be purchased also (MS office, etc.)
That is why more and more people need to switch to open source: To negate the rising cost of these kind of softwares. Microsoft should remember that we need to buy the hardware too! Which makes technology a high cost to reach for ordinary individuals. Either they cut down costs or set a price that each area/country can afford.
To us ordinary citizens, XP is being sold at a discount, so i guess we have to settle for that
